Why Pre-Upload Your Music?​

We want to have your Freestyle music on our hard drive ready for your round. This way you can focus on:

  • Connecting with your dog
  • Preparing mentally for your round
  • Making sure your Freestyle friend captures your round on video

No fiddling with your phone or running to the sound tent!

How to Upload​

Upload Instructions​

  1. Prepare an MP3 file of your music
  2. There are two folders: one for Performance Round, one for Criterion Round
  3. Upload to both folders (even if using the same song)
Act Like You Made the Cut

There will be a cut after the performance round. Upload your criterion round song as if you made the cut! If you're using the same song for both rounds, upload it to both folders.

File Naming Convention​

Format: Your Name and Dog's Name, round

Examples:

  • Jack Fahle and Ferris, criterion
  • Sarah Smith and Max, performance

Music Quality Tips​

Buy Don't Download​

We encourage you to buy a copy of your song file rather than downloading it from YouTube.

Why?

  • Supports the artist who created it
  • Ensures good quality file
  • YouTube downloads may sound fine on earbuds but reveal poor quality when pumped through the sound system loudly

  • Performance Round: Thursday 10:00-4:00, Friday 10:00-4:00
  • Criterion Round: Saturday 10:00-4:00 (top 40-50% advance)
