Important UPDIF Information
Competitive Atmosphere
UPDIF is a fun but also highly competitive atmosphere. Please ensure you are aware of all UpDog General Rules prior to entering this event.
Field Setup & Environment
This year UPDIF will be run on 6 fields simultaneously much of the time.
Field Configuration
- Fields separated by distance (minimum 25 yards)
- Banners and possibly tents between fields
- No fencing between individual fields
- Entire field area is fenced (though gates may not always be closed)
Expected Attendance
UPDIF is a very busy environment:
- 700+ dogs
- 400+ people (competitors and handlers)
- Additional spectators
Dog Behavior Requirements
Prior to registering, please consider all of the above and determine if your dog is able to handle this situation.
Dogs that are a disruption to the competition, including aggressive behavior, will be subject to discipline up to and including no longer being able to play for the duration of the weekend.
What to Consider
Before registering, ask yourself:
- Can my dog handle being around 700+ other dogs?
- Is my dog comfortable in busy, high-energy environments?
- Can my dog focus on competition with multiple activities happening nearby?
- Does my dog have any aggression or reactivity issues?
If you have concerns about your dog's ability to handle this environment, please contact the UPDIF organizers before registering.
